Image 1: In a retail store, cash registers are some of the most important components as far as sales go. This setup is modeled after the Walgreens in somerset in which the cash registers are located near the exit as to reduce the likelihood of shoplifting. This also helps give the store a nice flow and makes it seem less choppy.
Image 2: The entrance to this store would be double sliding glass doors. One set for entrance and one for exiting.
Image 3: At the back of the store there is a stockroom for all overstock items. This space would only be accessible by employees who would be using overstock items to fill spaces on shelves. There would be a large door at the back for large trucks to make deliveries as well.
Image 4: Shelves in the store would be up kept by employees and often filled. Each employee would be in charge of each shelf and how well stocked it is and if it is a mess.

I will be creating a 70' by 60' retail store which will be located on the corner of two main streets in a smaller town. This store would have a modern feel to it and be modeled after more recent retail buildings like the Walgreens in somerset. The store would have an area designated close to the exit to offer an easy flow for customers to leave. This would welcome guests in and make their experience enjoyable. If a customer is happy, they are more likely to come back and spend more money. The store would include an open floor with shelves that run all the way to the back of the store, showing off the inventory that the store has to offer. In the building, there would also be a large stockroom running along the back of the store. This stockroom would hold all overstock items until they could be put up on the shelves. The store would be made of brick but have a white interior.

FINAL PROPOSAL: For the final project I am going to build a 50' by 70' car workshop. This work shop is going to have 2 spaces, an actual workshop, and then an office space for consultation. This workshop will employ experts in automobiles and will be in a highly industrial area. It was have 3 spaces for vehicles along with 3 garage doors to allow the automobiles in. The design for the workshop is fairly simple but will have a 15' by 15' office space built into a corner. The ceilings will be 25' high as to allow for car lifts to reach maximum height. There will be windows but not many as privacy for customers and theft deterrent is a high priority. The shop will be made primarily out of 1/2 inch sheet metal as to keep a professional look. The workers here will be well informed and experts in the field as transparency will be the motto of this business. A bad stigma surrounds mechanics and automotive repair as being a ripoff, but to change this view, our shop will be as straight forward as possible to retain customers if anything goes wrong. In the office there will be a consultation area so the lead mechanic can inform the customer on the issues and solutions for their vehicle.
Final Project: For the final project i decided to make an eye doctors office. This facility is modeled after one that currently exists in Fall River. This office has two rooms for examination and consulting. In these rooms would be equipment used for various optometrist needs. The rest of the facility is used for waiting areas and storage of charts and transcripts. There is also an area designated for prescription eye drops and other necessities for patients. In the middle of the office is an island where receptionists sit and help patients. It is an island so that there is a receptionist available in 360 degrees. The building has 12' high ceilings and is rather large so that patients don't feel muddled and have room to breathe. There is also a large amount of windows which allow in enough light where lights are not necessary to stay on all day, reducing the potential electricity bill. There are multiple entrances at the front of the building, one is for patients to enter and the other would stay locked at all times, as it leads directly to one of the offices. It is necessary to have multiple exits so that patients can relax and know that there are exit routes in case of an emergency.
